Author, Mom, F1 Racing Fanatic
Lexi Richards is a debut author who writes flirty, fast-paced contemporary romance with heart and a little horsepower. Before focusing on swoony book boyfriends, she spent years crafting speeches, newsletters, and press releases for elected officials and nonprofits.
A proud graduate of Duke University and the University of Southern California, she now lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two sons, who share her love of Formula 1 and good storytelling. Her family’s Sunday morning tradition of watching F1 Grand Prixes inspired her debut novel, Podium Perfect, which reimagines a classic romance trope at 200 miles per hour.
The first draft of Podium Perfect was a finalist in the 2023 Writers’ League of Texas Manuscript Contest (Romance category).

- Indulging my sweet tooth with Chocolate Chip Cookies from Tiny’s Milk and Cookies in Austin, TX and Key Lime Coolers from Byrd’s Cookie Co. in Savannah, GA
- Playing tennis with my friends and board games with my family
- Advocating for hospitalized kids and their families with the Chase Foundation and Dell Children’s Trust
- Traveling to my hometown of Los Angeles, Vermont, anywhere with a beach, or somewhere I haven’t been yet.

But when secrets surface and hearts hit the brakes, Avery has to decide if love is worth risking it all for a shot at her own podium-perfect ending.
